Welcome to MOMS Club® of Newnan-Shenandoah, Georgia

Ours is just one of over 2,000 chapters of MOMS Club International, including four here in the Newnan area. MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support) is a not-for-profit organization offering activities, support and friendship for parents at home and their children. MOMS Club carries no religious or political affiliation and we welcome all parents. Potential members are invited to join us for our monthly meeting. You are welcome, but not required, to attend up to two monthly meetings before making your decision to join.

MOMS Club of Newnan-Shenandoah covers the area of Newnan beginning at Hwy 34, extending south to Lower Fayetteville Rd., between I-85 and Hwy 154. The membership fee for our chapter is currently $20 annually. MOMS Club is a nonprofit organization so all fees collected are used for administrative purposes, supplies, projects and activities. We realize that the decision to be a stay at home parent often comes as a financial sacrifice. For circumstances in which this fee causes a hardship for your family it can be waived. To join our club, attend a meeting, or to get more information, submit the contact form at the top right of the page and our Membership VP will assist you. Playgroups
Our playgroups are formed according to age. Currently we have four playgroups including a group for babies, one for toddlers, and two different groups for preschoolers. Playgroups are formed based on membership. As the club grows, playgroups are made to meet the needs of members, based on ages of children and sizes of groups. Groups are usually kept between 6-10 children each. Playgroups are held once a week on a designated day. Groups meet at members homes, on a rotating hosting schedule maintained by the playgroups leader. Hosting is not required to participate in a playgroup.
Field Trips
Field trips are determined and scheduled by the clubs activities coordinator. Many of the trips that we have done have been educational in nature and all have been a lot of fun. Some examples include our annual trip to the pumpkin patch and trick-or-treat on the square, an outing to Cochran Mills Nature Center, a trip to the stables to learn about horses and take a pony ride, a day at Callaway Gardens to see the Birds of Prey Exhibit and tour the butterfly house, and a tour of the local grocery store, fire station and dentist's office, just to name a few.
Park Days
Park days are a fun way to meet all the members of our club. We meet frequently at Castle Park, All Children's Park, the First Street Park, and many of Summer Groves' great parks.
A-La-Art
A-La-Art is an arts and crafts program for the kids. One or more of our MOMS Club volunteers organizes and hosts this event that can include anything from finger painting to a seasonal craft project.
MOMS Night Out
Therapy for MOMS! In the wonderful world of parenting we don't always make a lot of time for ourselves. MOMS night out is organized by a member volunteer. Once a month we meet at a local restaurant, take in a movie, or venture out into the community for events like Newnan's annual "Spirit Stroll", or to see a local theatre production, or to take a craft lesson at the Vintage Flea. Whatever the event we always laugh, share stories of our families and offer lots of free, unsolicited advice to our fellow MOMS.
Special Interests
Many of our members enjoy meeting for common interests such as book clubs, scrap booking, or crafting. These groups are formed and attended based on individual interests of our members. New ideas are always encouraged!
Service Projects
MOMS Club International is a nonprofit corporation, and a 501 (C) (3) publicly supported charity registered with the IRS. In keeping with MOMS Club values, every year each chapter participates in a project, or projects of their choosing to benefit their community. Some of the ways we have given in the past have included sponsoring families in need and holding food drives. Participation in these projects is appreciated and encouraged but not required.
Monthly Meetings
Each month we hold a business meeting to discuss any thoughts or ideas we might have, or any upcoming events or projects on the agenda. Occasionally we will invite a guest speaker to attend the meeting. For example, we have had a CPR instructor come to teach child and infant CPR, and we have had McGruff, the Crime Dog come to speak to MOMS and children about safety. This meeting typically takes place on a weekday morning. Children are always welcome to attend, and most often do. This is a great opportunity to meet all the members of our chapter and welcome new members to the club. We hope to see you at our next meeting!
